On March 21, something big is happening at Rutgers. Think big, think really big—think thousands of alumni and friends supporting every Rutgers school and program imaginable. Now, think bigger—the entire Rutgers community making an impact that will transform the future for generations to come. One day, a world of impact. How will you think bigger?
The third annual Rutgers Giving Day is an opportunity for the Newark College of Arts & Sciences/University College community to show the world what it can accomplish together.
Last year through Rutgers Giving Day, The Newark College of Arts & Sciences received over $11,000 in gifts from 135 donors, plus an additional $3,500 through challenges. Let’s make this year even more successful!
A donation as little as $5 can help fund everything from emergency financial aid to bringing exciting speakers to campus to funding undergraduate research. Social media challenges throughout the day will provide even more opportunities to win money for your preferred cause, so engagement is just as crucial as monetary donations.
How to Give
Support one or more of NCAS/UCN's funds on the Giving Day website on March 21. By clicking on the link, you will be taken to a drop-down menu, with the options nested under campus and school plus several programs. These programs have been selected based on past levels of contributions.
If you would like to designate your contribution for a program or department that is not listed in the dropdown, for example, the Honors College, the MFA, or your own department, choose “Other” from the drop down menu and write in your fund.
Impact of Giving
Your gifts help provide needed financial assistance and fund undergraduate research done by students like Rafael Osorio, a junior double majoring in Spanish & Portuguese Studies and History, who spent a summer translating a prominent Cuban author’s novel.
Or you could be supporting a student like Khadija Tan, a junior in Psychology with a Biology minor who hopes to become a physical therapist.
Or you can support Honors College Students like Alexandra Torres and Bakhtawer Kahn, best friends who recently received Gilman Scholarships to fund study abroad. Read their story here.
